Pima Schools has begun the process to identify the district's next superintendent. After 14 years Superintendent Rickert is scheduled to retire at the end of the 2025-2026 school year, and the board is looking for his successor to step into the role effective January 1, 2026. It is hoped this will provide a smooth transition. In an effort to assemble the best group of candidates for the position the district is using the Executive Search services provided by the Arizona School Administrators.
